QlumEdit is a small (5Mb) and very lightweight GUI application for the editing of LDT files.
QlumEdit helps you creating LDT files from a template or adding new files.
With QlumEdit, you can edit the characteristics of the light source.
From its light source examples, you can select the most appropriate model for the type of project that you are working on.
You can also set all the properties that you want (luminous intensity, projected area, number of elements,…) in order to get your desired output.
On the other hand, you can configure the text size and other text properties of the LDT file.

QlumEdit is an applet that enables the editing and monitoring of the LDT files. Its objective is to provide an easy-to-use tool for the editing of LDT files.

I have been using the Qt framework since version 4.1 and I liked it a lot. As a result, I started to develop several desktop apps. However, I am not happy with some aspects of Qt and I decided to try GTK+.
GTK+ is an alternative library that has an easier learning curve than Qt. Unfortunately, it has a few major drawbacks, the biggest being that it does not provide the auto-complete capability. The good news is that GTK+ is free and is probably the biggest competitor to Qt. It has been ported to several operating systems, including Linux.
Today, I want to share my experience of developing a GTK+ app with you. If you have used GTK+ before, this is the perfect opportunity to get the basics. If you are new to it, or if you just want to have a closer look, you can have a look at the code in the repository at GitHub.
Basic principles
Before we start, it is important to know the basic principles of GTK+ programming. It is simple enough for GTK+ beginners but we will not cover the basics in this article. The main idea behind GTK+ is that you use Python to write your code and then GTK+ provides the tools to convert your Python code into widget descriptions and event handlers. GTK+ uses a declarative model. That means that you tell GTK+ what you want and GTK+ will do its best to make it happen. It is very different from Qt, where you tell the application which widgets you want to use and the application will create them for you.
In GTK+, you will have to define a main window. The window has to have a function that is called on startup. In this function, you can set the title of the window, the position of the window, and other things. A window is defined by a class, and this class is declared in a.ui file.
